Nano-SiSTeMI is an Interdisciplinary Centre, funded in October 2005 by the University of Eastern Piedmont in Alessandria (Italy).
The acronym Nano-SiSTeMI stands for “NanoScienze e Sviluppo Tecnologico di Materiali Innovativi”. The main objective of Nano-SiSTeMI is the diffusion of knowledge in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The expertise of physicists and chemists, affiliated to Nano-SiSTeMI, gives to the institution the interdisciplinary character which allows affording the challenges for the discovery of novel materials with enhanced physico-chemical properties. The most advanced tools for synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials are available to the researchers affiliated to the Centre.
Catalysts, sensors, superconductors and composite materials for optoelectronic, luminescence, energy production, green chemistry and bio-medical applications are developed in the Centre.
